Inverse reliability method and applications in offshore engineering

摘要：
An inverse reliability algorithm is proposed and applied to two problems in offshore engineering: 1) calculation of wave and iceberg collision forces with a gravity-based platform at a prescribed annual exceedence probability; and 2) calculation of the mean structural weight corresponding to a target probability of failure of sliding on the seabed. Numerical results are compared with applications of FORM as a forward reliability procedure, and advantages of the inverse procedure are discussed.
