Modeling flow and solute transport in the unsaturated zones

摘要
The scope of this paper is to develop a mathematical model to simulate the now and the solute transport in the unsaturated zone. The code is built using Visual Basic of Excel. It is a powerful tool for simulating such process. The model is a one-dimensional vertical now and conservative non-reacting solute transport in the unsaturated zone. The user will input the data in the spreadsheet environment where most of the users in the field can use Excel. The code animates the results during the run. The user can monitor the results during the run. He also can stop, continue or change the input data. After finishing the run, the user will find the results in the same spreadsheet. Also a number of graphs will be ready. He can print, modify or copy and paste them anywhere else. The code is verified against an international finite element model. The model result matches the results of the international model within acceptable tolerance.
