EVOLUTION OF GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY IN ROMANIA

In this article are presented chronologically the main events produced over time of geodesy and cartography in Romania. In the first part of the article are presented the first indications of concerns inhabitants of these lands in Astronomy and Cartography, continues with a presentation of the projection systems used across time and the context of using these systems. In the second part of the article are presented the steps that led to the development, formation and evolution of Geodesy as a science in Romania, the current situation of this field on national level, trends and development perspectives in the context of using GNSS technologies and alignment with international standards.
