摘要
In the following essay we discuss a relatively recent case of coexistence between two different, but synonymous nominal groups in Greek: ADJECTIVE-ikos + NOUN and NOUN (ARTICLE) + NOUN GENITIVE. We will also show the tendency of the first group to prevail over the second, We suggest that this phenomenon is the product of the interference between English and Greek and this strong influence is quite evident in the translation process, even if the source text is in French. We accordingly postulate that this complex phenomenon is related to the modelling and the dynamics of the Greek linguistic system, as well as to the strong influence which the source text exercises on the inexperienced translator.
