摘要
A planar compact WWAN Antenna for Netbook/eBook applications is presented. By inserting an additional parasitic open slot under the shorted-T monopole, bandwidth for the antenna's both lower and upper bands can be enhanced to cover full band for GSM850/900/1800/1900/UMTS operation (824 - 960 MHz and 1710 - 2170 MHz). Smooth variation for the radiation pattern in each applicable frequency is seen in the study. Mounted aside the system ground plane, the antenna printed on the PCB as planar structure takes the area of 50 x 10 mm(2), which is the most compact planar WWAN antenna so far. Detailed analysis and results of the proposed planar compact WWAN antenna for Netbook/eBook applications are presented.
