摘要：
This paper intends to study the role of informal sector in Thailand by reviewing various related papers. I found that as a result of Thailand's development policy and the limitation of the formal sector in absorbing excess labor supply in the economy, the informal sector has played a distinct role to support Thai labor marker situation since in the past. Furthermore, the economic crisis in 1997 also led to a significant movement of Thai labors from the formal sector to the informal sector.
