An evaluation of the help a competences assessment can lend the long-term unemployed in terms of employability

Based on what is known in the field of social psychology of employability factors, a study was carried out to verify what advantages the long-term unemployed might obtain from a competences assessment. The employment rate, noted six months after the competences assessment, leads us to believe that this type of personalized assistance induces an improvement in different factors directly linked to employability. We noted a clarification of vocational plans, an increase in self-esteem, an improvement in self-evaluation and communication skills, all of which seemed to have increased the possibility for these individuals to find employment.
