Spatial-temporal diversity technique based on fractionally-spaced adaptive array antenna

摘要
The array processing for wireless network is a spatial diversity method used to increase the system capacity. And it obtains spatial-temporal diversity by using the equalizer or the RAKE receiver jointly. In this paper, we analyze the effect of fractionally-spaced (FS) array antenna, which can obtain the performance enhancement and the insensitivity to timing phase without increasing the number of antennas. FS antenna array system is thought to be a joint poly-phase filter bank which consists of that of time-domain and space-domain. As a result, the performance of the FS array antenna is similar to that of the symbol-spaced array antenna with more antennas.
