摘要
This paper illustrates how genetic algorithms may be used to map the spatial structure of retinal ganglion cell receptive fields. A simulated center-surround receptive field is used as the basis for a qualitative and quantitative comparison between the solutions obtained with the help of a genetic algorithm implementation and those obtained purely by chance alone. Initial results using a genetic algorithm to map spatial structure look promising.
