摘要
This article has as objects and sources of analysis the theses and exams of public tenders to select secondary teachers for the Colegio Pedro II (CPII). Only in 1921, one woman applied for Italian's concourse at CPII, but she was unsuccessful. The first time that a woman began to work like teacher of the CPII was in 1926. She was named as supplementary teacher, but her attempts to join at the chemistry's concourse in 1933 and 1939 were unsuccessful. The documents' analisys indicated the existence of an institutional hierarchy among teachers and allowed us to understand how the identity of the secondary teacher was constituted in this model institution.
