Transforming online professional development: The design and implementation of the project-based learning management system (PBLMs) for in-service teachers

摘要
The design and implementation of the project-based learning management system (PBLM) for in-service teachers was examined. PBLM represented an open-ended learning environment in which teachers were responsible for generating and pursuing their own ideas to create an instructional product. The teachers were assigned to work collaboratively on three tasks that included the identification of needs for web-based instruction (WBI), the design of WBI plans and activities, and the development of WBI. PBLM also provided peer assessment intranet (PAI) that allowed groups to receive feedback from peers and experts so that knowledge could be shared and distributed between the members of the learning community. Tasks were evaluated by two raters using a pre-developed scoring rubric, and the interviews were analyzed based on thematic elements. The results showed that groups received above-average scores for the analysis and design plans for WBI, and the development of WBI.
