Tensile properties for jute fibers treated with methacrylamide

摘要
The influence of ferrous contaminations on chemical modification of jute fibers with methacrylamide (MAA) was investigated. The ferrous contaminations in the intercellular regions accelerated the graft copolymerization of MAA using H2O2 as an initiator and then the tensile properties of treated fibers were enhanced when the weight increase via the treatment was smaller than 20%.
