摘要：

This study aims to identify the challenges of implementations green roofs in high rise residential buildings, located at a high density urban area in Malaysia. This paper examines residents' awareness and knowledge of rooftop gardens in the Kiang Valley and problems associated with them. It discusses why the residents either visit or do not visit the roof gardens. In addition, the questionnaire survey to 297 residents also revealed residents' opinions on problems associated with green roofs. The discussion has implications for the potential of adopting green rooftop gardens to create a better quality of life for urban dwellers as well as improving the man-made high rise structure that often result in the loss of green space.
