摘要
In her acceptance speech for the Manes Sperber Prize 2000 the Austrian filmmaker and author Ruth Beckermann explores the affinities between the experience of exiles and Holocaust survivors and that of Jews in today's Vienna. She reveals how the emergence of Haider's Freedom Party as a major political force has fostered an atmosphere that calls to mind the dynamics Sperber had to confront before she took exile in Paris. Beckermann demonstrates the degree of fascination that "reflections of Nazism" exert over a contemporary Austria caught in the vacuum of conflicting social values.
