Long-term variations in the prevailing wind in the upper mesosphere lower thermosphere region and their association with the solar cycle

摘要
The height profiles of the intensity of annual and semiannual waves and the annual mean zonal wind in the upper mesosphere-lower thermosphere region (80-110 km) are studied. The analysis of results is based on the radar meteor observations carried out at the Kazan State University (56 degrees N, 49 degrees E) in the period 1986-1995. The height dependence of the manifestation of solar control in the behavior of annual, semiannual, and annual mean values of the prevailing zonal wind is established within an 11-year solar cycle.
