Mg2+-doped TiO2 thin film were prepared by sol-gel method. The phase transformation behavior of TiO2 thin film is studied by DTA, XRD and SEM. The results show that the transformation temperature of non-crystalline to anatase and of anatase to rutile decreases with the doping of Mg2+. Studies of photo-catalytic degradation show that the photo-catalytic activity of Mg2+-doped TiO2 thin film is higher than that of pure TiO2.
