A multivariate chemometric method for determining the kappa number of kraft pulps

摘要：
A rapid method for kappa number determination is presented. The method is based on the multivariate analysis of UV/VIS spectral data on softwood and hardwood krait pulps. The kappa number of both unbleached and oxygen-delignified pulp samples can be determined with reasonable accuracy by a single spectroscopic measurement.
