A Dual-band Microstrip Antenna using a T-shaped Parasitic Element

摘要
This paper presents a dual-band microstrip antenna using a T-shaped parasitic element that cover GPS L-1 (1.575 GHz) and L-5 (1.176 GHz) bands. The proposed antenna has dual-band characteristic by placing a T-shaped parasitic element at radiation aperture. The T-shaped parasitic element has effects of perturbation and coupling in the resonator. The size of the designed antenna has half-wavelength at 1.575 GHz (L-1 band), and the antenna is miniaturized due to resonate at low frequency (L-5 band) by the parasitic element. Furthermore, the antenna is single-layer and low-profile. Also, the broadside radiation patterns are observed in all bands.
