摘要
Growing technological complexity and the dynamics of product development make it increasingly difficult for the designer and engineer to take into consideration all the different requirements concerning a certain product. In the past engineers have mainly concentrated on technical aspects. Nowadays, they have to be open-minded for new demands derived from the information, communication and service society. Thus, engineering is the design of development processes for technical products and services. Initiating and managing social and organisational processes will be a particular decisive competence. In this presentation a case study is provided which confirms these aspects of engineering work. Copyright (C) 2000 IFAC.
