CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ONTOLOGY BASED E-LEARNING SYSTEM FOR HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT

In this paper an e-learning personalised model using ontologies is proposed; it is addressed to managers working in medical institutions in Romania. The educational content offered to the members of the target group is adapted to their profile, level of education, learning style and needs. The aim of the system is to offer a competitive training course for professionals in the field of medical management, according to the requirements of standards accepted at European level. These goals are achieved through the use of new technologies, semantic web, ontologies and advanced educational strategies that deliver an adaptive and personalized learning process by providing personalized bibliographies. The use of ontologies in implementing the personalized process of learning, in modelling the flow of learning, has as target to improve the quality and efficiency of the prototype system. The main outcome of this system is to identify solutions to a series of e-learning systems limitations, especially those that refer to the flexibility of the computer assisted teaching-learning process and to the didactic methods that offer the students new facilities.
