摘要：

The First World War changed noticeably both the recruiting of members of the League of Human Rights in Charente-Inferieure and the subjects discussed by its members. In keeping with most of French society, the sections of the "Federation departementale" - the first in France by the number of its members - are influenced by a strong pacifist current. So their action between the two World Wars is dominated by the question : which means are to be used in order to fight the risk of a new war brought about by the consequences of the Peace Treaties, the rise of fascism first and then nazism?
