摘要
Ananya Roy's reflection on a year of protest at UC Berkeley focuses on the use of "strategic essentialism" as a way of building political coalition across divides of race and class. Shannon Steen considers the links between participation in protests against campus budget cuts by members of arts departments and the funding history of those units. George Lakoff's academic specialty, cognitive linguistics, applies to politics in general; he discusses its special relevance when political issues threaten our universities. Representations 116.
