INVESTMENT INCENTIVES - STATE AID INSTRUMENT FOR HIGH TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENTS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

This text focuses on the function of investment incentives in the effort to support high technology investment projects. First, it examines the definition of "high-tech" investment which is used in the Czech incentives legislation. Second, it analyses available data about supported investment projects (type of activity, branch, region and number of new jobs created). The author points out that the Czech legislation does not deal with the issue of significant dominance of automotive industry. Based on these findings, recommendations are outlined for possible future adjustment of legislative approach to "high-tech" activities.
