Experience of Polish libraries in business information delivery

Information services for the business sphere gain more and more attention of library managers, mainly academic. The question of the accessibility of business information in public libraries seems to be somewhat neglected. The paper presents the results of the research conducted by the Institute for Scientific, Technical and Economic Information (ISTEL) on business information sources in various types of libraries. Some of the research libraries have rich information sources in the areas of accountancy, banking, marketing, trade and economic law. They ensure access to many domestic and foreign databases. Most of the regional libraries offer access to legislative information, manuals and directories. Libraries suggest coordinated action for the development of business information services and at least partial commercialisation of these services.
