摘要
People building and not people using is the major ingredient of the concept of Quality Circle. This is particularly so as members of the Quality Circle get an opportunity for voluntary group activities. Also the members arrive at decisions in a systematic manner through statistical quality control tools. a survey was conducted to find the reasons for success of quality circles in India. Questionnaire was prepared and sent to 200 members of which 113 responded. Quantitative Analysis was performed on the responses to arrive at a decision; Mean, standard deviation and confidence of the responses was determined. The Deviation Confidence (DG) Index was formulated. The DC Index helps in determining the acceptable factors taking into account the standard deviation and confidence. The analysis indicated that the respondents hat-e attributed the success of Quality Circles to top management involvement and training given. In respect of individual development through Quality Circles, 23.5% was attributed to personality development. The confidence with which the respondents have participated ranges fron. 51% to 97%. Of the total more than 60% are having their confidence level above 75%. The analysis helps in identifying factors for introducing quality circles successfully and for making the existing quality circles effective.
