摘要
The article discusses the colonization of the American continent and different specific economic, political and social development of North and South America. Colonization of North America took place in two forms. These were based on different approaches colonizers from the Iberian Peninsula and the British Isles. American geographers Jared Diamond and Shaun Miller (Nature, 25. 5. 2006, p. 411) analyzed the economic development on the continent since 1492 and in this context also focusing more influence, which since its inception applied in Latin America, the United States. Scientists use in their work interesting term "paradox resource curse". Its origins and consequences of the deal in his speech. It shows that Latin American countries originally its rich mineral wealth or a developed agricultural production at the expense of poorer developed countries of North America. The article mentioned specific examples.
