Public participation in the fight against corruption

The promotion of national integrity is an integral process in successfully implementing public sector reforms, especially those targeted at minimizing corruption. Efforts to promote sustainable and equitable development are undermined if levels of integrity are not enhanced and corruption reduced. While each country and region is unique in its history and culture, political system, and stage of economic and social development, similarities in national integrity systems exist and lessons learned are often transferable. Furthermore, the promotion of a national integrity system and the fight against corruption must be as politically inclusive and citizen-friendly as circumstances allow.
