MOOC: A Disruptive Innovation and Implication on China's Higher Education

摘要
MOOC mania has gain a great deal of attention from public, education professionals, institutions even venture capitalists and commercial organizations with the promise to offer open, low cost, flexible, quality high level courses. A growing number of higher education institutions have been involving in the MOOC experimenting for the purpose of exploring education reform. This paper adopted the disruptive innovation proposed by Clayton M. Christensen to analyse MOOC disruption and impact on traditional higher education. In recent years, MOOC strike China educational circles and famous universities cooperated to set up MOOC platforms in succession. How to response to the new disruption technology? The paper analyses MOOC impact on China's higher education and find out there is a need to re-inspect current higher education model and provision.
