摘要：

Rapid progress in the structure and function of the brain is forcing neuroscientists and bioethicists to consider the possible consequences of ongoing brainresearch. Neuroimaging techniques such as positron emission technology and near-infrared spectroscopy have produced wonders in medical research, yet concern has been raised over issues of privacy and confidentiality for future applications of such technology.
