Taking care of business

The purpose of this article is to share some specific applications of the principles covered in Conference presentation IC-1 ("Taking Care of Business: the Non-language Side of Freelancing"). It should serve as reference material after the Conference and does not cover the presentation itself Examples include comparing assignments, evaluating job offers, considering long-term contracts, outsourcing services and the efficient use of the freelancer's time. They apply to translators, interpreters and other language mediators.
