摘要
Unsuitable weather phenomena are considered one of the most influential factors on flight schedules in world airports. It is a well-known fact that it is a non-controllable force that significantly affects airport operations systems and safety performance. In this paper, the impact of dust storms on flight schedules was explored in Kuwait International Airport during 2016 and 2017. A comparison was made between 32 days free of dust and another 32 days exposed to dust cloud. It was concluded that the average arrival and departure times, on days where dust incidents occurred, were decreased by 42% and 17.2%, respectively, when compared to the reference days.
