摘要
This paper narrates the detail study of SSSC based damping controller for intensifying power system stability. SSSC is a flexible AC transmission system, these FACTS devices are primarily used for increasing power transmission capability but in this case SSSC is used for improving power system stability. SSSC has a voltage source converter (VSC), storage and series insertion transformer through which voltage is injected in series with transmission line. Controller used for controlling SSSC is Lead-Lag controller; this controller takes line active power as input and provides voltage with maximum and minimum limit to be injected in line, which in terms provides active and reactive power compensation so as to maintain power system stability. Effectiveness of proposed controller is verified through simulation results by making controller ON and OFF.
