Data based maintenance management of trichloroethylene production system in a chemical industry

摘要：
The paper discusses data based maintenance management of the system in a chemical plant. The system consists of three subsystems, arranged in series, with two states: good and failed. The mathematical formulation is done using probabilistic approach and constant average failure and repair values. Expression for long run availability required for the continuous process industry is derived. Behaviour of each working unit is analysed an the basis of data collected from a medium size chemical plant. Based on the derived results and existing system maintenance strategies, a maintenance schedule is prepared. It helps the management in taking timely decisions to maintain the system failure free for long duration.
