The research of control and application of microdroplet in microfluidic chip is summarized. The methods of control mainly include multiphase flow, electrowetting, thermocapillary, dielectrophoresis and pneumatic pressure. And the areas of application include emulsification, encapsulation, extraction, microreactor, mixing and bioassay. At last future developments of microdroplet in microfluidic chip are prospected.
