Tension-type headache (TTH) - also known as 'regular' or 'ordinary' headache (1) - is extremely common. The key symptom is a tight band or pressing pain felt on both sides of the head (1). The headache pain in TTH is mild or moderate and lasts from several hours up to a few days (1). TTH usually responds well to treatment with simple over-the-counter (OTC) analgesics such as ibuprofen and paracetamol (2).
