PREPARATION OF ELECTROCATALYTICALLY ACTIVE RuO2/Ti ELECTRODES BY PECHINI METHOD

摘要
In this study, DSA (R) type porous ruthenium oxide coated titanium electrodes with different coating masses were prepared by Pechini method from a polymeric precursor at different decomposition temperatures. The influences of temperature on the morphology and the microstructure of RuO(2) formed on titanium were investigated by SEM and thin film-XRD. This work aimed to prepare electrocatalytically active electrodes showing high stability during oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV) tests were performed in 1 M H(2)SO(4) after a 1-h-constant anodic polarization at 20 mA/cm(2). Tafel slopes (b) of 55-60 mV/dec were obtained. The electrodes prepared at lower temperatures show lower anode potentials than that of prepared at higher temperatures. Increasing of the coating mass showed an increase in the coating stability of the electrode. Similar electrocatalytical properties were determined for the electrodes having different oxide loading obtained at 450 degrees C.
