Distributed Brillouin temperature sensing in photonic crystal fiber

摘要
Temperature sensing experiments in a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) have been carried out using pump-probe technique which has been operated in the Brillouin loss mode in the temperature range from 0 to 56degreesC at 1320 nm, One main peak and four sub-peaks are observed. The temperature coefficients corresponding to different resonance peaks are different between 0.96 to 1.25 MHz/degreesC. We discuss the potential application based on these novel characteristics of PCF as distributed temperature and strain sensors simultaneously.
