Electromagnetic internal gravity waves in an ideally conducting incompressible medium

摘要
Properties and peculiarities of linear 3D - propagation of electromagnetic internal gravity waves in an ideally conducting incompressible medium embedded in a uniform magnetic field are studied. Local and non-local (plane waves) approaches are applied. It is shown that ordinary internal gravity waves couple with Alfven waves. Associated partial differential equations and dispersion relations are obtained. New branches of oscillations are revealed. The results obtained may be applicable to the Earths ionosphere and solar atmosphere.
