PROBLEM-SOLVING IN GROUP USING MOBILE NOTES

Mobile notes allow obtaining more efficient and richer system models as they provide a flexible tool for problem-analysis. Mobile notes can synthesize different points of view, merging mental models, and therefore helping to understand and solve complex problems in a cooperative way. Moreover, the design of conceptual mobile maps provides clarity and makes ideas visible. The sequences of the process can be changed and students are able to add ideas in a more creative way. This tool has been used in different subjects from Graduate and Undergraduate levels, and from two different Faculties (Business Administration & Management and Fine Arts), which has allowed us to compare the results in the learning process. Objectives and challenges of the session need to be planned properly in order to guide the students during the learning process, no matters the subject or the academic area, while we can also evaluate some transversal competences of the students such as teamwork and leadership or planning and managing of time.
