摘要
The eastern Arunta Region of central Australia is a highly prospective underexplored region that has undergone multiple phases of deformation and long-lived fluid flow during the Palaeozoic intraplate Alice Springs Orogeny. Recent work in the eastern Arunta has identified potentially rift related mafic intrusions containing Ni- and Cu-sulfides both within the intrusion and along high-strain contacts with host metasediments. This style of mineralisation shares similarities with tholeiitic associated Ni-sulfide deposits in the Musgrave Region and Voisey's Bay. Shear zone and quartz-vein hosted Cu+Au +/- PGEs +/- U mineralisation remobilised during Palaeozoic intraplate tectonism are intimately associated with Palaeoproterozoic oxidised, I-type intermediate intrusives with iron-oxide-copper-gold potential.
