摘要
A novel method of ultrasound-modulated optical tomography (UOT) detection based on the laser feedback technology is proposed in this Letter. The system has advantages such as a simple structure, high sensitivity, and reflective configuration. Effective penetration depths of up to 9 cm and 5 cm in phantom and biological tissues, respectively, have been demonstrated experimentally. The detection capability is comparable with the state of the art in the transmission mode but with a much lower photon consumption. Although a lot remains to be improved, the proposed method is promising for further development toward practical applications. (C) 2019 Optical Society of America
