摘要
In this paper, we analyze the problems of TCP-friendliness implementation in multicast congestion control protocol. We also demonstrate how multicast deployment could be inconvincible without relaxing the strict TCP-friendliness rules. We finally propose a multicast supportive TCP-friendliness definition to be used for multicast congestion control instead of the old definition. The multicast supportive TCP-friendliness gives more bandwidth share to any multicast flows that serve more receivers. Our initial simulation experiments on the multicast-supportive TCP-friendliness using Lo-RD [5] model demonstrate good aspects in both protecting the TCP traffics and motivating multicast deployment.
