Study by XPS and XAS (XANES) of tungsten oxides based catalysts:: WO2, WO3, 1% Pd/WO2 and 1% Pd/WO3

摘要
In this work, the catalytic activity is correlated to the structures of the tungsten oxides surfaces and bulks deduced from XPS, XAS (XANES) and XRD data. The reactivity of 2-methyl-pentane was tested on WO3 and WO2 powders activated under H-2 at various temperatures. When palladium is added to these systems the step of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation is highly favoured which results in a much better activity of the catalysts in isomerization providing no formation of metallic tungsten is occured.
