摘要
Aim: to determine the beneficial effects that aerobic physical activity produces in older adults with arterial hypertension.Methodology: experimental study with control and intervention group to determine the effects that aerobic physical activity has in 50 hypertensive elderly adults, who attended 78 sessions of aerobic physical activity, three times a week. Parameters such as functional physical condition (health fitness) and blood pressure were evaluated. Results: aerobic physical activity produces positive effects in hypertensive old people; since it not only helps to reduce blood pressure (-6,43 mmHg of PAS p <0,001 and -6,14 mmHg of PAD p<0,001), but also favorably affects other cardiovascular risk factors, reducing the BMI (-2,99 kg / m. p<0,001) and helps maintain optimal functional physical condition levels.
