摘要
Hydraulic conditions in streams strongly influence the type and diversity of biota, Numerical hydrodynamic models allow the hydraulic conditions to be calculated as well as the effects of flow regime changes to be assessed, This paper presents an overview of work aimed at applying a numerical model to mountain streams in order to complement an existing ecological study. Bowyers Stream on the eastern side of New Zealand's Southern Alps is used as a case study in this paper.
