摘要
The performance and safety requirements for production and use of energetic materials means that synthesis research is important and sits amid all other aspects of the development of new materials. An important part of the synthesis work is the collaboration with other groups involved in scale-up, characterisation, formulation studies and theoretical modelling so that each aspect is considered at the different stages of development. The synthesis group at Fort Halstead have been active for many years in the field of new energetic materials and this paper will provide an overview of current areas of interest and future directions.
