摘要
This paper proposes a new stator-excited vernier high-temperature superconducting machine. The key of this machine is designed with all excitations on the stator, hence significantly simplifying the cryogenic cooling system for HTS windings. In addition, owing to the absence of magnets, high reliability can be achieved in the proposed machine. First, the configuration and operation principle of the proposed machine are discussed. Then, the influences of design parameters of the proposed machine on its electromagnetic characteristics are investigated. Finally, the proposed machine is compared with its PM counterpart by using the finite element method. The results show that the proposed machine can offer a higher torque density at a small armature current.
