摘要
NASA. has initiated a number of substantial efforts over the last decade to impact personal transportation for the future. Success for this endeavor depends on the ability of the aerospace industry to produce a highly affordable personal aircraft that is comfortable, safe and easy to fly. This work reviews and assesses advanced automotive materials and innovative manufacturing technologies for possible adaptation to the production of affordable and lightweight fuselage for the MI-SATS program. Automotive materials and technologies are reviewed in view of the functional requirements for auto body structures and aircraft fuselage.
