Traditionally the term "energy efficiency" has been looked at in terms of reducing the energy consumption aiming to cut down in energy costs. Experience has shown that energy efficiency improvement results not only in financial savings but also in reduction of harmful emissions to the environment. Energy efficiency is a cornerstone strategy in the reduction of greenhouse gases, which is a major contributor in global warming. Energy efficiency cannot be achieved without improving the quality of operation, maintenance and environmental management. A real case study, typical in terms of energy projects, is presented. Energy efficiency, quality management system and environmental management systems share many of the strategies & methodologies. This paper shows the close relationship among Energy efficiency, quality and environment.
