摘要
In May 1996, the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, together with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), published the 16th edition of the ''Red Book,'' ''Uranium 1995 - Resources, Production and Demand,'' reflecting the status as of January 1, 1995. The ''Red Book'' has been published since the mid-sixties: since 1973 it has been updated at regular two-year intervals. The book presents a survey of the supply of, and demand for, uranium at the present time and in the fifteen years to come. Data about exploration, resources, and production were collected from 54 countries. Special emphasis should be put on the new data from Bulgaria, Canada, Cuba, Gabon, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Namibia, South Africa, and Ukraine. The 1995 edition includes reports from 23 of the 25 uranium producer countries, i.e., about some 92% of the world uranium production in 1994.
